The automotive industry has woken up to the potential of bundling their cars with solar panels and battery storage in homes. By pitching Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS – solar panels with battery storage) as a complimentary purchase to electric vehicles (EVs), the automakers are looking to profit from lengthy repayments and new cross-selling opportunities.
