China solar scraped in at 30 GW during 2019, back on track?

China’s National Energy Administration has issued electricity generating numbers for the last quarter of 2019, showing that it added more coal than any other form of generation, some 41 GW – the bulk of its 46 GW thermal generation additions – but made a huge comeback in solar, reaching 30.3 GW after a dismal 3 quarters before that. In fact there is much evidence to suggest that December alone saw 12 GW of solar plugged in, in the dying days of 2019, to salvage the year.
