We HAVE heard it all before – new CEO BP has assured Reuters that he plans to conduct the biggest shake up of BP in its 111 year history. It always makes sense to make change as an incoming CEO, and to get the bad news out of the way, and associate it, in the minds of investors, with the old guard. Easy to say, but harder to do where BP is concerned. Bernard Looney told Reuters he plans to adopt broader carbon emissions reduction goals and to include emissions from fuels and products sold to customers, rather than just emissions from BP’s own operations, which his predecessor pushed through.
