Construction has begun at Eolus Vind’s Oyfjellet Wind Project in Norway, and an agreement has been signed with Nordex for the supply and installation of 72 of its new Delta4000 N149 5.X MW turbines. Its nameplate capacity will be 400 MW. The project will be in the coastal Vefsn municipality, in Norway’s central county of Nordland. The site is at an elevation of 800 meters, with sparse vegetation, low temperatures, and high winds. In accordance with a PPA signed in 2018, its power will be supplied to Alcoa Norway for 15 years, to power its aluminum plant in the nearby town of Mosjoen, as well as for local domestic needs.
