Ten research projects will get a share in a £73.5 million pay out from the UK government, with each of them being chosen on the basis of which of them most improved the chances of Electric Vehicles in the UK. The successful projects were chosen by the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) which has the new role of building the UK a position as a center of excellence for research into low carbon vehicles. Most of the projects are partnerships between UK Universities and car or car part makers including many of the large car makers – BMW, Ford, and Jaguar Land Rover.
