The UK’s fourth MNO, Three UK, suffered a steep drop in its operating income, halved to just £86m ($113m) in the first half of 2020, compared to the year-ago period. Sales were down by 4%, to about £1.1bn ($1.4bn), after about 700,000 active customers defected. Three UK now has 9.5m users. ARPU was 6% lower in June than a year earlier, at £12.62 per month, though most of the churn was among low value prepaid customers. Contract subscriber numbers were up 1% to almost 7.3m.
