Last week we noted that Spain-based towerco Cellnex had made the latest in a string of acquisitions, this time in Poland. Now the company, which sometimes dubs itself the ‘American Tower of Europe’, is said to be close to yet another deal, this time a €10bn ($11.7bn) purchase of acquire European tower assets from Hong Kong’s CK Hutchison Holdings. CK Hutchison owns the 3 Group, which includes operating companies in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Ireland and Austria. It owns 28,500 towers across Europe to support these networks.
