South Korea has outlined a new plan to build a 6 GW floating offshore wind farm off the coast of Ulsan by 2030. Unveiled by President Moon Jae-in, the project is expected to require €27 billion of investment, alongside the creation of 210,000 jobs. The project alone would account for half of the government’s target to install 12 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030, while as much as 20% of its capacity could be used to generate over 84,000 tons of green hydrogen per year.
