The USA’s Dish Network is a living illustration that it takes more than an innovative network architecture to deliver commercial success. Its mobile business, currently still mainly based on MVNO activities, is struggling alongside its legacy satellite TV operations, and while it invests heavily in its cloud-native, wholesale-first 5G roll-out, there are question marks over how long it will take the pendulum to swing towards growth, and a turnaround that would justify the 5G adventure.
