The summer holiday season may have brought a lull in activity in many parts of the industry, but not in tower-related deals and acquisitions. The latest news comes from markets as diverse as The Philippines, Brazil, Mexico, India and Senegal, while Huawei has won a tower contract in the Solomon Islands. Filipino carrier Globe Telecom has confirmed sale of 5,709 cellular towers in a $1.28bn deal that will help expand its network and data-related services, although with about a quarter earmarked to pay off debts.
