The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MRNE) has now approved a grand total of 19,565 MW of domestic Indian solar production capacity to the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (ALMM) list. This is up from just 11.5 GW in March 2022, though it’s down slightly from earlier this year. Currently there’s an exemption lasting through to March 31st 2024, but from then on Indian solar projects will be required to use ALMM registered solar modules.
