We recently spoke to Oxford PV’s CTO Chris Case. For the past year or two we at Rethink were ragging on Oxford PV for always being 12 months away from completing its pilot line – now, Case tells us, “We are in production now, our factory is producing perovskite tandem solar cells – though we don’t expect to sell these to our module maker partners until next year as we’re still in ramp phase.” Assuming no further delays, the world should see its first sales of Oxford PV’s first batches of 27%-efficient cells next year, and it has higher verified results than that.
