China’s module exports in the first eight months of 2023 reached 137.9 GW, according to PV Infolink’s interpretation of Chinese customs data. Of this total, 77.7 GW went to Europe, which means the region will have imported around 100 GW by the end of the year. This is even accounting for imports slowing down as they always do in the latter part of the year – and as they especially will this year given the stockpiling situation. In 2022, China exported 153.6 GW of modules, which was up by 55.8% from 2021.
