Solar module prices have fallen to just above the marginal cost of production – $151 per kW in the case of a standard G12 Mono PERC module made in China, pre-shipping. This is a 45% price fall from twelve months ago, when module prices were at a multi-year peak driven by the polysilicon shortage. Prices dropped several percentage points in every link of solar manufacturing this week, with prices down between 15% and 20% from one month ago.
