HPE has planted its flag in the sand and confirmed its intent to buy Juniper Networks for $14 billion. But, be warned, combining large tech firms is always fraught, and since the two entities are darlings in the wireless space, a combination could leave them stepping on each other’s toes. The leaders at HPE are keen to stifle concerns that in their expensive offer for Juniper they may be paying for products that they already have – hence why there is such a clamor around the promise of AI.
