The Canadian province of Ontario now hosts a 90 MW VPP portfolio, accumulated over 100,000 residences over the past six months, courtesy of ‘grid-edge flexibility provider’ EnergyHub, working with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). EnergyHub now acclaims this as one of the larger VPPs in its 1.7 GW portfolio, and it may be the most rapidly ramped up. Introduced in September, the Save on Energy Peak Perks program featured some very direct signup tactics – namely a $75 prepaid virtual Mastercard upfront, with a further $20 each year.
