We recently spoke to Mark Beukeboom, Product Manager for Eneco’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) – an aggregation of many disparate generation, storage and demand response assets all guided by one centralized decision-making center. Eneco is a utility supplying electricity, heat and natural gas to two million customers in the Netherlands, and which is now building its own VPP, called Myriad, in-house. The exact scale of this VPP has yet to be disclosed, but it’s been under development for several years and went public in mid-2023.
