Enough announcements have come out of the perovskite field to justify another of our periodic roundups – there are new announcements on mass-scale manufacturing, efficiency achievements, and Series A financing. Together with several larger pilot lines which have already been built, China will host the better part of 1 GW of nominal perovskite production capacity by the end of this year – but the actual output is a fraction of a per cent of that, because research is ongoing, especially on the smooth-coating, degradation and efficiency questions – especially how to achieve all three at once.
