The US shared spectrum management platform, Federated Wireless, has extended its shared spectrum offering as part of its CBRS Advanced initiative. This is the first step in a number of enhancements from Federated Wireless, the success of which is yet to be proven. However, any update to improve access to CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) for a wider pool of users is welcome news. While the FCC’s system for sharing spectrum between federal and non-federal users is gaining in popularity, improved spectrum management capabilities are much needed.
