France’s Kinéis is starting the launch of a European constellation of LEO satellites for proprietary IoT devices. Meanwhile, LEO-based IoT satellite firm Sateliot, offering connectivity between unmodified IoT devices, is moving into commercial action. This is the fruition of developments that began when the 3GPP’s Rel-17 set the standard for connectivity between unmodified NB-IoT, or Cat-NB, devices from space. French satellite IoT operator, Kinéis is launching a European IoT constellation of 25 nanosatellites using LoRaWan IoT protocol.
