Direct-to-cellular (D2C) satellite connectivity is the stuff dreams are made of, and despite the hype from Apple and Starlink, it may largely remain in the world of fantasy. While operators and satellite companies are launching their D2C programs in earnest, there is still much detail to be decided. Following the popularity of its fixed satellite broadband for superyachts and rural America, Starlink has been on a tear to build a constellation of ‘Starlink V2’ D2C satellites.
