Construction works at the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind farm have been put on hold by the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), after a GE Vernova turbine blade broke and fell into the sea. This could be a random accident of the kind which all industries experience, or it may place a question mark over GE Vernova like the one which hangs over Siemens Gamesa’s 4.X and 5.X models.
