After years of hype and conjecture, a second commercial drone program has taken off in Europe, giving flight to the 5G use case. However, there may not be quite as much activity in this area as the players involved would have you believe. While LEO satellites have dominated recent NTN discussions, this time, the nimble drone returns with some encouraging news. Swisscom Broadcast, Switzerland’s communications provider for the public sector, emergency services and major events, has signed up for Nokia’s Drone Networks product.
