Lithium iron phosphate is going from strength to strength, not just in Chinese power battery manufacturing where it is already dominant, but increasingly in the EU’s EV industry and in the energy storage sector. The latest statistics from the industry have China’s EV industry installed 41.3 GWh of LFP batteries in the month of September, with 75.8% market share compared to other chemistries such as ternary batteries, and up 70.9% from a year ago, while the production of lithium iron phosphate is up 20% in a month – and up 100% from September 2023.
