Sustainability was frustratingly absent from MWC stands and marketing. When it did crop up, it was always through the lens of the energy reductions that a new product provides – a small piece of the total sustainability story. Intel’s example, mentioned in the previous issue, of an upgrade from third-generation Xeons to the latest sixth-generation chips cutting core network server requirements by 60% is a good example of this – a worthy outcome, but not really something that the MNOs can take credit for.
