In the wake of the 3GPP’s kickoff workshop for 6G, the first vendors are beginning to stake their positions in the market. Generally, there are no major changes to standards, once the ball gets rolling, as everyone is mostly on the same page. To this end, most are able to launch products and services before the standards are officially finished. With 6G, the vendor ecosystem has taken on the feedback from the MNOs, that 5G was far too costly and complex, and that it has not provided anything like the return on investments they were expecting.
