Since 2021, it has become increasingly common to see reports of solar farms being built in Finland and Sweden. Yet another project portfolio was announced this week, a 300 MW deal from Soltech and Solgrid across Sweden. This comes of the heels of several other large project announcements, while the biggest underway must be the 475 MW Huittinen farm and the 500 MW Kauhajoki farm, both in Finland. Sweden already became a solar installation market over 1 GW in size last year, going from 1.6 GW to 2.6 GW. Which is odd – aren’t these countries too gloomy?
