In-building wireless infrastructure specialist Airvine has unveiled the new WaveCore Flex – a final piece in a portfolio of boxes designed to move wireless signals through buildings. Speaking to Wireless Watch, CEO David Sumi outlined the problems facing customers, and the ways that the technology solves them. Put simply, Airvine’s family of units is designed to provide a WiFi-based wireless replacement to what would traditionally be a wired connection. So, instead of hundreds of meters of Ethernet cable, the sales pitch is that two WaveTunnel boxes could use 60 GHz spectrum and complex antennas to pipe wireless connectivity around a building.
