China is planning on driving AI usage in hospitals, to combat its shortage of trained doctors. In the US, there are around 2.5 doctors per 1,000 people, but for China, that figure is just 1.5. Favorable data regulations mean that China is perhaps better poised to rapidly adopt AI in these environments, thanks to the relative lack of red tape. Separately, Intel has just announced the foothold it has made in this industry, through partnerships with well established healthcare providers.
