China Mobile has issued new 5G device guidelines which indicate that it will start procuring 5G modems this September and deliver 5G handsets by April. Last week, it announced its latest 5G trials, working with Huawei and Intel, but unlike in 4G, where it took a substantial lead over its rivals, China Unicom and China Telecom have similar aggressive timelines this time around.
