There may be seven pillars in the house of wisdom, but Cisco is only promising six with its framework for the internet of things (IoT). The company’s power rests heavily on frameworks – on harnessing its networks and platforms to unify all the disparate elements that make up a large enterprise, a carrier system, or an entire internet. Cisco has pulled together most of its IoT-related products and services – including 15 new additions – under one roof, itself held up by the six pillars.
