We were irritated as hell this week when Drax put out its quarterly review of renewables, drawn up by renewables academic Dr Iain Staffell of Imperial College London. The press release drew all kinds of inferences about how wonderful Drax is, which were clearly not evident in Staffell’s work. Most publications reported it verbatim, because it was a good lesson in what the UK has done to continuously cut emissions over the past ten years, and it was concluded with the latest numbers.
