If there was one unifying theme among OSS vendors at the TM Forum’s DTW Ignite event in Copenhagen, it was the looming threat/opportunity of ‘agentic’ systems – those that use GenAI and LLMs to create virtual ‘agents’ that can be put to work in the telco stack. Here, the opportunity is that these LLMs can join up the multitude of dots in the backend, to create a unified interface for a human to interact with. ‘Why is the network down’ becomes an actual question that staff can ask of their OSS environment, if these early successes can scale up through the global ecosystem.
