There has been some public mudslinging from BT and EE this week, over the Shared Rural Network (SRN) initiative. EE proudly announced it had completed phase one of the program early, and wrote a blog decrying the poor effort from its rivals. However, EE’s leadership in the program may not be fully justified, as a lot of the infrastructure was already in place as part of the widespread BT/EE network – a merger that we still can’t quite believe made it past the regulators. EE announced that “careful planning and prioritized investment has meant EE has expanded its 4G network – already the largest in the country – to over 1,600 more countryside communities across every region of the UK.”…
