The Biden administration has orchestrated two critical moves in favor of renewables through initiatives at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced this week – re-instating Obama-era vehicle mileage standards, and turning the tide on coal and gas plant leaks into drinking water. EPA assistant administrator for water, Radhika Fox, signed a Notice of Rulemaking to revise the Steam Electric Power Generating Effluent Limitations bringing in more stringent limitations to what is appropriate for steam thermal plants to put back into water supplies.
