The Intersolar Europe 2023 conference and trade exhibition’s introduction was based around solar manufacturing – specifically the EU’s ambition to reshore the entire supply chain. According to the European Solar PV Industry Alliance (ESIA)’s presentation at the event, the EU is already on track to reach a goal of 30 GW through the entire value chain by 2025 and can even exceed it with further policy support. That’s from the current baseline of 4.5 GW. ESIA was formed in December by the European Commission, and that is also when the 30 GW goal was adopted.
