The surge in EV sales is relentless, and this week a few European countries had Q1 sales numbers showing continued significant growth over and above sales achieved in 2020. The shape of EV sales in Europe last year was fairly hard to predict, with Q1 numbers down, Q2 flat, and then soaring numbers in Q3 and Q4, at a time when conventional car sales were way down. All in all EV sales were up from around 2.5% of total car sales in 2019 to 10% in 2020, but much of it focused on numbers achieved in the last quarter.
