The European Union’s antitrust decision against Google has resulted in an unforeseen consequence – charges for European vendors of Android devices, if they still want to pre-install key Google applications like Search. The EU has imposed a $5bn fine, ruling that Google had forced Android phonemakers to pre-install a bundle of its apps and services, including Search and the Play app store.
