Greenpeace outs banks who put $1.4 trillion in coal since Paris

Greenpeace this week called out the hypocrisy among the global banking and insurance sector, pointing out that those attending the Davos World Economic Forum this week have around $1.4 trillion already tied up in fossil fuels., since the Paris agreement was signed. It simply counted up the CEOs attending the meeting in Davos and looked up how they are financially exposed to fossil fuel companies. Greenpeace has issued a report entitled “It’s the finance sector, stupid,” making it clear that more pressure needs to be applied to banks globally to solve the climate crisis.
