Decentralized crypto-adjacent WiFi-slinger Helium has announced a deal with Mambo WiFi, which will see 40,000 Mambo WiFi hotspots in Brazil become the foundation for Helium’s Brazilian expansion. This opens the door for Brazilian MNOs striking deals with Helium to offload traffic onto the WiFi network, and continues Helium’s growth in the Americas. Helium has already struck deals with AT&T in the US and Telefonica in Mexico, to provide offload via the crowdsourced Helium network – something we have explored previously.
