Hydrogen; Alive and well and on the lookout for EU subsidies

Two reports out this week, making the point that hydrogen is about to have its day can barely be coincidence, but seem to be. One is from the Hydrogen Council with a bit of help from both McKinsey and E4tech entitled Path to Hydrogen competitiveness; A cost perspective”, and the other from two key players Gasunie, the Netherlands gas grid company, and TenneT, which runs the Netherlands electricity grid. There are a lot of details, with one report 88 pages long and the other 75 pages, but the picture that is painted is similar in outcome, if not precise detail.
