Few forecast an election that would be so close that after it the US would be virtually unable to pass any serious changes of renewables policy, beyond what can be achieved by Presidential decrees and appointing climate change aware leaders to lead Federal organizations. So much for the Green New Deal or anything like it – for Solar ITC tax cuts, massive EV subsidies, and the green agenda of Joe Biden. Right now, in an election that may well remain locked until well after we publish our issue, either a Biden Presidency, without Senate control, or any kind of Trump Presidency, leaves the renewables industry with no clear and obvious advantage over where it was this time last week.
