Iliad is already creating a stir in the Italian mobile market even before it launches there, as the established operators take pre-emptive action against a possible re-run of the Free Mobile experience in France. Vodafone Italia plans to launch a low cost MVNO service this year, which looks like a defensive move against the imminent entry of a fourth MNO, owned by Iliad. Telecom Italia has already set up a similar internal MVNO, called Kena Mobile.
