Landis+Gyr takes a new route with omni-carrier cellular smart meter

Landis+Gyr recently announced the launch of its new ‘omni-carrier cellular meter,’ which is available for order and will start shipping to customers in Q2. Supporting both LTE Cat-M and Cat-NB, the new meters look like a significant departure in the utility sector. The new meters are aimed at the North American market, but this could change. Landis+Gyr claims that they are ‘omni-carrier capable,’ with a single meter model being able to run on networks from whichever MNOs are capable.
