Microsoft used Computex to announce that its HoloLens augmented reality (AR) platform will soon be much more tightly integrated into Windows. The company is opening up to hardware and software developers looking to build AR and VR apps inside the Windows ecosystem. To this end, Microsoft has invited its OEM, ODM, and hardware partners to build PCs, displays, and wearable accessories on the Windows Holographic platform – opening up Windows to third-party hardware and a lot more applications.
