The operator-driven Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance (NGMN) has published its latest technical specification, this time outlining how operators should use 5G deployments to simplify their networks – migrating legacy technologies and embracing 5G Standalone. The ‘Framework for Network Simplification v1.0’ document, available here, is not a page turner, but it does provide solid advice. The purpose of these documents is less a ‘how to’ guide and more of an attempt to align those in the industry on the same page of the hymn sheet.
