The operator-led group, the Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance (NGMN), has laid out a framework for reviewing new RAN equipment. The group wants to guarantee that any new hardware upgrades are necessary and financially beneficial for operators, and in doing so, avoid another costly generation of upgrades.
