Nokia has published the latest installment of its Threat Intelligence Report, charting a riskier telco security landscape than ever before. Of course, Nokia hopes to sell its cybersecurity software and services (chiefly NetGuard and Deepfield) to this community, but Nokia’s surveys show how subterfuge rather than brute force is the current concern. The current buzz-term is a ‘living off the land attack,’ which describes a malicious intruder gaining access to a network and then quietly using available tools and hiding inside routine processes to avoid tripping the alarm.
