Like Ericsson a week earlier, Nokia announced lacklustre first quarter results, which seemed to place too much weight on early 5G deployments to improve performance before year end. The company maintained its full year outlook despite a decline in revenue in its key Networks business unit during Q118. Its justification for cautious optimism was the major 5G roll-outs which it expects to see later this year, mainly in the US, with other areas to come in 2019.
