Orange Belgium has gone live with its first mesh WiFi deployment using technology from SoftAtHome. Taiwanese firm Arcadyan is the manufacturer behind Orange’s WiFi repeaters which are now being deployed across Europe, including the new system in Belgium. Orange Belgium is offering subscribers devices (it calls these modules), which together form a mesh WiFi system designed to identify the best frequencies for optimizing coverage. It determines the module and wireless frequency required to swerve any interruptions such as movement. The operator is offering two modules for €99.95 or three for €139.95, with additional devices available to expand the mesh at €69.95 each.
